Monday night, fans watched as Ashley Hebert handed out roses in Fiji to JP Rosenbaum and Ben Flajnik. Scottsdale viewers are thrilled that ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011 has cranked up the romance this season after such a rocky start. Ashley Hebert is back Tuesday morning with her weekly blog at People.com, sharing insight and teasers with the fans.
Thrilled to visit Fiji
Ashley said during Monday’s show that she has always wanted to travel to Fiji, and she shares in her blog why. She writes that a co-worker met her husband while vacationing in Fiji, and shared with Ashley that it was a romantic and beautiful place. Ashley had long ago added it to her list of places she wanted to visit, and she was thrilled to discover she may have the opportunity for a great Fiji love story of her own.
Sending Ryan home again
Heading into the overnight dates, Ashley says she had very strong feelings for both JP and Ben. While her hometown date with Constantine was great, she still had a lot of questions. She was shocked by Ryan’s return, but she writes that she understood why he wanted to see her again. Ashley shares that she had felt uncertain about cutting Ryan on their earlier date, and she thinks he sensed that. As she spent time with the remaining guys, however, her decision to end things with Ryan solidified. Ashley says that the second goodbye was still very difficult and it broke her heart to do it.
Clarity with Ben
Hebert shares that her date with Ben was a lot of fun, and they have a very similar sense of humor. The editing tends to show the more serious moments between them, but viewers who stuck around for the moments after the previews saw the two laughing hysterically over their toes of all things. Ashley shares that their boat ride home was very romantic, as “he laid his head on my lap and we looked at the stars. It was a moment of clarity for both of us.”
Not devastated by Constantine’s leaving
Ashley knew that the date in Fiji was a critical one with Constantine, as things were moving so slowly. She writes, “Throughout most of the date, I felt a huge disconnect with him. I quickly realized I was holding out and looking for a romance between us that will never be there.” While she was hoping the date would be an opportunity to change this, Constantine was ready to leave. She says it didn’t surprise her that he was saying goodbye. While some expected (and ABC previews teased) that Ashley would be devastated to have this happen, she shares she wasn’t. Her biggest worry was that perhaps JP or Ben would also have misgivings about sticking around.
Beaches seem to be our thing
The chemistry between Ashley and JP was undeniable in Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette 2011. Ashley writes, “I loved JP’s kisses and remember not wanting this date to end and being happy knowing that this was an overnight date and it wouldn’t have to end so soon!” Hebert writes that the two spent most of their day kissing, and she adds, “Beaches seem to be our thing.” Hopefully New York City can also be their thing, as that is where JP lives and if they do find their happily ever after, that is likely where they will live together.
It was a romantic evening Monday night, and the finale is just days away. Don’t forget that the “Men Tell All” episode airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday night, a change from the usual schedule due to the 4th of July falling on a Monday. Then the final episode airs on Monday night, August 1, beginning at 7 p.m. JP Rosenbaum and Ben Flajnik meet Ashley Hebert’s family, get one more date with her, and then the final rose ceremony will happen. You don’t want to miss a moment of these final two shows this season on ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011.
