Monday night, Scottsdale fans of ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011 watched as Ashley Hebert gave her final rose to JP Rosenbaum. The happily engaged couple appeared on the “After the Final Rose” special, and later on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ashley has been on Jimmy’s show several times this season, but of course this is the first time Jimmy will get to chat with her knowing how the season ended.
The happy couple walked out hand-in-hand, and Jimmy immediately pointed out he had picked JP from the beginning. Ashley Hebert and Jimmy Kimmel have shared a great chemistry and banter since her first appearance, and this visit is no exception. Click on the video on the left-hand side of the page to watch the interview for yourself. Jimmy even teased them that Bentley was there as a surprise, though thank goodness he was joking.
Ashley shares that she and JP got to stay in Fiji for four nights after the show finished taping. Jimmy asked if either of them had accidentally let the cat out of the bag while they were keeping secrets, and JP admits that he had mistakenly sent some texts to friends that were meant for Ashley. He had to scramble to get his friends to cover, as he said there was simply nobody else he’d have been talking to like the texts were other than Ashley.
Of course Jimmy asked about a wedding, and Ashley said that for now they are just enjoying their engagement. However, she said that they’re thinking late 2012 is a likely timeframe. Ashley is planning a move to New York next month, and she shares that over the three months they had to keep their relationship secret they saw each other approximately every two weeks. JP jokes that they lived on Skype, and that his life consisted of work, gym and three hours a night of Skype.
Jimmy plays a clip of Ashley and Ben on their final date, and JP actually had not seen that clip. He said that he did watch the finale ahead of time, but he only watched the parts with him and Ashley. She said that she tried to give him a heads-up of a lot of things that might bother him throughout the season, and he seemed to be good-natured about it. The couple returned for a second segment after the break, so don’t miss out on part 2 of their interview.
What did you think was the cutest part of the interview? This is a refreshing shift from last season’s final couple, as Ashley and JP seem to be in a very good place with one another. Do they have what it takes to make it down the aisle? “Team Cupcake” fans certainly hope so.
While The Bachelorette is now wrapped up for the season, next Monday viewers can tune in to Bachelor Pad 2. Ames, William and Blake from Ashley’s season will be on the show, along with many of the most dramatic, hot-headed personalities from seasons past. Tune in Monday night, August 8 to see how it all begins. ABC’s Bachelor Pad 2 airs on Channel 15 in the Scottsdale area.
