Today is a another sad day on ‘One Life To Live’ because of the absence of Trevor St. John. He was shot yesterday on the show and it leads into a ‘whodunit’ involving the ‘Real’ Todd, Brody, Rex or Shane, Tomas or ??.
I have always been a fan of Roger Howarth and I always thought of him as ‘real’ Todd and I am thrilled to see him back.
Of course, I am a fan of Trevor St.John also. He came in and made the role his and that is hard to do after the phenomenal Roger Howarth has put his indelible stamp on it. TSJ was a different “Todd” a harder more violent character who had no sexual problems, as did Roger Howarth’s “Todd”, and that always left me questioning as did his roughness with Starr who is the other half of (RH’s) “Todd’s” heart.
This did not take away from TSJ’s “Todd” or his spectacular acting. He has given us thrills and chills and romance and hatred, all acted as only Trevor can do. He has become an integral part of ‘OLTL’ and should never have been killed off to make room for RH. There is plenty of room on the canvas for both of them and they would have been amazing playing against each other or teaming uptogether to find all of the truths to their past. I hope Prospect Park is thinking about how to bring him back because he will be terribly missed and not forgotten. This has been a decision on the magnitude of ‘Days of Our Live’s’ writing off Marlena and John and I was enraged over that decision and I am now also.
Trevor St.John became Todd Manning in August of 2003, before which he was portraying another character Walker Lawrence on OLTL. His first major acting role was opposite Glenn Close as David in the television movie “Serving in Silence. He appeared in the films The Bourne Ultimatum, Crimson Tide and in Wes Craven’s “MY Soul To Take” and he has just finished filming “In The Family” an Indie film.
He also appeared on many teleision shows including “Dirty Sexy Money”, “Murder She Wrote”, “Just Shoot Me” and in the mini-series “Beach Boys”. There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. St. John will have no trouble working in New York City which he calls home with his wife Sara and 4 year old son Aiden.
As Kristen Alderson(Starr) sings “One Life To Live” we see Victor get shot. He turns and looks into the eyes of his killer and says “Oh My God. What the hell are You doing here?” the gun, the shot and Victor falls to the floor with red staining his T shirt. Now his family must grieve and the suspects prove their innocence. Is it one of them, an old enemy, one of Irene’s henchman? This will take us on another journey but “Victor Lord Jr. will be missed!
Is this the last we see of Victor, of the great Trevor St.John? Somehow, I don’t think so.
