In his new novel, In Blackness, being celebrated with a book release party tonight at Gatsby Books, Long Beach author U.L. Harper has creatures that are 15 feet tall and technologically advanced. Are they angelic Nephilim? Are they aliens? Or are they somehow both?
According to the Bible, the Nephilim are the offspring of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” … or, as some translate, the offspring of angel fathers and human mothers.
There are also those who believe that the belief in angels was spawned by aliens who visited Earth long ago. In fact, I did a podcast episode in which my guest firmly believed in two distinct alien races — the Elohim and the Anunnaki. Those who ascribe to the alien Elohim theory, often refer to the Nephilim as the offspring of unions between the Elohim aliens and humans.
In U.L. Harper’s book, young Saline and Lenny move to Southern California to escape nightmares. When their parents suddenly die, it starts a chain of events that eventually leads them to returning to where the nightmares began … nightmares that involve these alien or angelic creatures.
If you can make it tonight, I’m sure you can ask U.L. more about his take on this concept. If not, you can always pick up a copy through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Kobo.com or Smashwords.com.
