Al Quinn, president of United Film & Television Artists, acting is his passion

by jolt left

SAG Actor Al Quinn, from Brooklyn New York, now resides in Fort Myers, Florida. Quinn not only keeps busy acting in a variety of roles – on stage, in film, on radio, in television and also volunteering in different capacities as an entertainer, but he, too, is the president of United Film & Television Artists (UFTA).

UFTA is non-profit organization that usually meets in Fort Myers the second Monday of each month with some of their goals being to foster the interest in any and all areas of entertainment – acting, production, writing, photography, modeling, music…

Perkins restaurant has been ‘hosting’ the organization, but UFTA has also met at other locations depending on their goal or purpose for each meeting at the time.

Up and coming, Al Quinn is proud to announce, that he will be presenting UFTA’s first scholarship (award). Quinn says they have been building up such a fund since UFTA’s early beginnings (for approximately five years now), and it will be awarded to any person whose goal is to study and work in the entertainment industry.

Amanda Hootman is the student who qualifies for such an award, and she has been a UFTA member and an acting and voice student at Guildford School of Acting in London, England. She will be presented the 2011 UFTA Education in Entertainment Scholarship on Monday, July 11, 2011.

Quinn, and all of UFTA, are proud of Hootman’s accomplishments, and know she will go far in the industry.

Al Quinn, himself, has been keeping busy acting, and he considers acting one of his main passions! He most recently shot on location in West Palm, Florida for a new TV show coming up in the fall, 2011. He cannot divulge anymore details at this time.

What Quinn does know is that the production company used for Fraud Dog is Introublezone Productions out of Naples, Florida. He says, too, how great it was working under the direction of Naples Studio owner Chuck Ardezzone whose local clients include The Diamond District, Il Primo and Marazzi Nissan to name a few.

Fraud Dog teasers are out there for the public, so feel free to check out Fraud Dog on youtube – one such clip is attached.

Thanks goes to Mr. Quinn for sharing what he and UFTA have been up to, and he wants all to know:

“Actors, keep up your acting skills, check with us at UFTA to know and learn more and see what we’re all about!”
