It may be a cliche, but there’s no place like home for the Grand Prairie AirHogs.
Back at QuikTrip Park after a very disappointing 2-7 road trip, the AirHogs made sure there were no late-inning dramatics as they pounded the Lincoln SaltDogs 11-4.
David Espinosa hit two home runs and drove in five.
Josh Rainwater, meanwhile, had one of his better performances as he allowed only one earned run in six innings.
Lincoln was on the offensive early. The Hogs had to throw two runners out at the plate in the first inning, and then two infield errors led to two runs in the second.
Grand Prairie immediately tied the game in the bottom of the second when Tyler Henley doubled home John Alonso and Guillermo Martinez.
Espinosa then hit a two-run shot in the third to start a four-run inning. Alonso doubled home a run and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Four more runs came in the sixth inning, including a two-run double from Espinosa, who then scored on Cesar Nicolas’ hit.
Espinosa’s solo blast in the eighth added one more run.
