Advance prides itself on being an organization that is celebrating the contributions of the one million Australians living and working abroad. As their CEO Serafina Maiorano describes, “They are a global community that inspires, challenges, supports, influences and shares your knowledge, experience and success, so you can make a difference for Australians, Australian companies, and Australia around the globe.”
Their monthly newsletter, which is sent out free of charge to all members, lists events taking place around the globe, posts jobs available at Australian companies, and profiles outstanding contributors to the global Australian community. You can also read The Buzz, which features a snapshot of Australian stories from around the world, travel memoirs, personality profiles, and even watch videos on Advance TV. Their social and business events take place in most major capitals like New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, and Sydney.
There are also several annual competitions searching for the best of Australian talent from around the globe. The Advance Global Australian Awards 2012 winners have just been announced, with a ceremony being held in Sydney on April 19. Other awards include The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards which is, “an international business plan competition for women entrepreneurs. Since its inception five years ago, it has provided support, visibility and coaching to 76 women heading businesses in countries across the globe. It focuses on women entrepreneurs with innovative projects and at their initial stages of development. See www.cartierwomensinitiative.com for more information.” The 50 for the Future Mentors Advance Innovation Program chooses mentors with each, “mentor providing one-on-one advice to an Australian start-up as part of our exciting new Advance Innovation Program. If you are start-up and want to be involved, it’s not too late!”

- Submit your entrepreneurial idea or company and join us on a journey to commercialize your ideas in Advance’s 50 for the Future Innovation program.
