Prior to going on stage at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival in Quebec, Canadian television station MusiquePlus had the opportunity to chat with Adam Lambert. During the interview, Adam commented about his upcoming album, stating that “if you loved the first album, you will definitely love this album!” He shared that he will be writing much of the album and that it will include his own personality and experiences:
“I don’t want to give too much away, but what I will say is that I’m writing a lot more of it this time, because I have the time and the knowledge now to do so. A lot of the topics are a little bit more serious in nature. Even when the songs are fun and upbeat, there’s something very real and kind of authentic and honest at the core of them. They’re not just frivolous, empty pop songs. That was really important for me to inject my own personality and my own experiences and opinions into every song. There’s definitely some that are happy, there are some that are actually kind of sad.”

MusiquePlus is a Canadian French language cable television specialty channel devoted to music from various genres, and is targeted to young adults in Quebec. In addition to the MusiquePlus interview, Adam also shared a similar message about the upcoming album in a recent interview for Us Magazine:
“This album is different in that is has a more serious tone. There is definitely fun, upbeat music on there too. This album has a thread of honesty in that it is real and personal. On this album I let people in further. It is an autobiographical album that portrays my dreams and aspirations. There are also some songs that deal with heartache and love. Whereas my old album was fun, campy, and over the top, this album is more contemporary and honest. The last album was more of a fantasy and this album is a search for my identity.”
Despite the fact that the new album will include more of Adam’s writing and be more honest, one thing both albums will definitely have in common is Adam’s stellar vocals. That alone is sure to draw both existing supporters and new fans. The fact that Adam is doing more writing and that the songs will be more personal is just icing on the cake!
The hints that Adam has been getting lately about the album is making the wait even more difficult for his fans. With the release still months away, at least he gave everyone a treat when he performed one of the new songs last weekend. How excited are you for the album to come out?
