Monday night, fans watched as Ashley Hebert sent Ryan Park and Lucas Daniels home on ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011. The last two segments of the show featured Chris Harrison’s interview with The Bachelor’s Emily Maynard, and Scottsdale fans are buzzing this morning about the episode. Tuesday morning, TVGuide.com posted its new interview with Chris about the show. Here are some of the highlights from this week’s interview with Chris:
Brad is still emotional about the split
Harrison feels good about how his interview with Emily Maynard turned out on the show. While he knows some people are frustrated there wasn’t more detail about why Emily and Brad split, Chris felt that it boils down to understanding that “having all the love and care in the world just isn’t enough” sometimes. Brad Womack chose not to participate in the interview, and Chris says, “He’s way too emotional and he still really cares for this girl and loves her a lot and he feels ashamed and stupid.” Chris thinks that Emily was the love of Brad’s life, and somehow he let her slip through his fingers. Did Brad watch Monday night’s interview? Chris says no, and that Brad said, “I don’t want to see Emily like that and I don’t want to see Emily talk about us like that.”
Fascinated by Ames (and his wardrobe)
Back to The Bachelorette, Chris is asked about Ames Brown making it to the final four. Chris says, “I don’t necessarily see it with Ames, but I think she’s so fascinated by the guy.” While Ashley seems to maintain there is a romantic connection there to pursue, Chris thinks it’s more of a fascination and an interest to see what makes Ames tick. Even Chris jokes about Ames’ wardrobe, which really has been something else this season. There is no question that Ames is an individual, both in personality and fashion sense.
JP explained himself in an endearing way
JP Rosenbaum spent a good amount of Monday’s episode feeling jealous, and Chris is asked if that will continue. Chris reminds fans that it’s a tough position for the guys to be in, because if they do start having feelings for Ashley, they have no choice but to watch her continue to date other guys as the show tapes. Chris was glad that JP opened up to Ashley about how he was feeling, and he thinks JP handled it was well as he could. He shares, “I don’t think it was showing a bad side of JP, it wasn’t psycho, he explained himself so well and in a very endearing way.”
Unanswered questions remain for Ryan Park
As for Ryan Park’s shocking departure, Chris says it came out of the blue and really stunned Ryan. For perhaps the first time, Ryan was speechless, but Chris thinks Ashley was just at a point where she felt ready to make decisions and move ahead. What about the rumors Ryan will return? All Chris will say is, “I think there were a lot of questions left unanswered out there.”
Just a few episodes remain before ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011 airs the finale on August 1. Has your favorite bachelor changed over the course of the season? What did you think of Monday’s episode? The Bachelorette episodes can be seen every Monday night at 7 p.m. on Channel 15 in the Scottsdale area. You can also watch The Bachelorette online at ABC.com the day after the show airs.
