The Brady Hoke era begins this weekend as the Michigan Wolverines take on the Western Michigan Broncos from the Big House in Ann Arbor this Saturday at 3:30 PM ET. Hoke was hired last January as head coach, replacing Rich Rodriguez.
The Wolverines come into Hoke’s debut game as double digit favorites (-13.5 at most Las Vegas Sports Books) to beat the Broncos. On paper this may seem one sided, but make no mistake, the Wolverines cannot stumble out of the gate. Michigan had one of the best offenses in the NCAA every year Rich Rod was here, so it will be interesting to see how they start under coach Hoke.
“They have to beat Western.” Tony S. of Warren said. “The backlash would be awful right off the bat if they lost to the Broncos.”
Prediction – Hoke knows he can’t afford to stumble out of the gate. The bottom line is Michigan is the better team here, but it will be interesting to see how the “new offense” progresses.
The key will be Mr. Offense himself – Denard Robinson. Last season Robinson was the leader of this team. Even if the offense is re-vamped, re-tooled, and changed 100%, Robinson will still be the key to making it run.
