Enjoy yourself, get out in the community, and help Bay Area kids keep fit all by supporting an evening of food and wine: Diablo Ballet’s 2011 Gourmet Gallop, August 11, in downtown Walnut Creek.
Dance is becoming an ever-important trend in fitness, both for adults and children, aided not just by dance fitness such as Zumba and Jazzercize, but by shows like Glee, movies like Black Swan and the multitiude of dance and talent competitions in prime time television.
These shows offer a way to interest kids in fitness and provide tools in the war against youth obesity, which makes it all the more vital to support organizations that go into the community such as Diablo Ballet’s PEEK Youth Outreach Program that brings arts education to 5,000 under-served elementary school children each year in Contra Costa County.
The 2011 Gourmet Gallop,Thursday August 11, 5 p.m.– 8 p.m. is a delicious opportunity to support the PEEK program.
