It’s only 72 hours away and foodies, culinarians and wine lovers are counting down and whetting their appetites. It’s the 2nd Annual Food Network Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival taking place this coming weekend, July 28th- July 31st. The four-day festival features Food Network chefs showcasing their culinary talents, as well as renowned chefs from the East Coast. Chefs Sunny Anderson, Guy Fieri, Robert Irvine, Pat and Gina Neely are all returning to do culinary demonstrations, host restaurant events and hold seminars. The Festival is hosted by Caesars Resort Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort, Showboat and Bally’s and sponsored by the Food Network to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
A series of highly anticipated events include Guy Fieri’s Cheesesteak Battle, Restaurant Invasion with Robert Irvine, and Sweet & Stylish hosted by Sunny Anderson. Here are some of the featured highlights of the Festival:
Robert Mondavi Discover Wines Presents The Grand Market and Italian Village. There will be four sessions of this wining and dining event where attendees can explore their senses with an Essence Station, designed to help guests recognize the subtle aromas and flavors of wine. Cooking demonstrations with local chefs and wine experts will complement wine displays that tell the story of Robert Mondavi’s legacy in American winemaking. There will be tastings of wines from Robert Mondavi Winery, Robert Mondavi Private Selection and Woodbridge, as well as an iPad station where visitors can send themselves information on what they’ve experienced.
Divya Gugnani, author of the newly releasedSexy Women Eat, demonstrates some of her favorite signature low-calorie libations. Harrah’s Viking Cooking School, “A Playground for Cooks,” is the host location for Cooking Channel and Atlantic City chefs to perform cooking demonstrations. Wine Down 101, hosted by wine expert Michael Green, is a seminar to teach visitors about the subtleties of wine while they sample classics. Over at Showboat’s Music Hall, home of the famous House of Blues, craft beers and BBQ are featured at Blue Moon Present Brews, Blues and BBQ.
These are just a few of the more than 30 events, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, seminars and restaurant experiences that will take place on the beautiful boardwalk, recently named by National Geographic as one of the top ten boardwalks in America.
Finalizing the four days is a new event on Sunday, July 31, on the beach in front of Bally’s from 1 to 4 p.m., At The Shore Presents “Sun, Sand & Organic – A Wine Tasting,” is best described as a green initiative and is the first Atlantic City Green Organic Beach Wine and Food tasting. Featured at the event are wines that are totally organic from wineries around the country paired with a menu that is completely raw. This event will feature no electric or petroleum; all products will be recycled or donated. At the end of the event, Caesars Entertainment staff, family and friends will initiate a beach cleanup.
