Jason wakes tied up, with his head being licked. The people he has been set to watch have captured him because of Crystal and her deranged lover Felton, who are there to change him into what they are.
Sookie has learned that Eric has purchased her house, thereby having the ability to come and go at will within her home. He wants Sookie but she refuses of course.
Bill Compton is having a talk with his spy, as she tells him about the witches and their power over dead things. Learning this information may spell trouble for the witches.
Outside Fangtasia, a group of Light of Day protestors are out with picket fences calling Hoyt a fangbanger and Jessica a whore. Hoyt of course gets upset and before you know it, he ends up in a brawl with the group, while Pam, who came outside with them, holds Jessica back.
Sookie learns that Bill is the new King. Talk about an awkward moment.
Bill has a flashback moment that explains his rise to power.
Back at Merlotte’s Sookie has a moment with Arlene, who is scared of her new bundle of joy. In a moment of a stare off, the baby and Arlene gaze at each other until she experiences a popped blood vessel.
Sookie in a moment of panic sees the faeries after her, but it is Tara coming home to welcome her back. As they are attempting to catch-up Sookie notices that Eric has created a cubby hole which angers her, and she goes off to Fangtasia to see if he is there, but ends up talking to Pam, who in her lackadaisical way tells Sookie to give in.
In an argument with Hoyt, Jessica leaves their home and drives to Fangtasia where she ends up eating a very happy human male and running into Sookie. I guess you can say another awkward moment for Sookie.
Tara ends up going with Lafayette and Jesus to their witch coven, where Eric ends up. He is there to stop the witches as they are necromancers and that is bad news for the vampires.
As Eric tries to show off, the main witch casts a spell on him which makes him forget who and what he is as Sookie soon discovers as she drives up to him, shirtless and roaming in the dark.
Poor Jason, even when he helps out, he still gets the shaft. Crystal is hopped up on V and of course in her and Felton’s drug induced minds they assume the only way to get her pregnant is turn Jason into a panther. After this he definitely won’t be an outsider in this tight knit family.
Then there is Tommy trying to get back into his brother’s good graces, but sneaking behind Sam’s back is not the way to go. Sam has a new family of sorts of other shifters, but these two are volatile together and who knows? Maybe they will get close, but for now, Sam is keeping his shifter friends to himself.
Marnie is not a very scary looking witch yet she is harnessing a power, especially when she starts speaking latin and as Eric looks at her, she starts to switch between herself and a dark-haired woman. Now when Marnie comes to, she apparently does not know what was going on, but I think this is an act on her part, that she knows exactly what she is doing, but we shall see as the season progresses.
With Jessica leaving Hoyt to go back to Fangtasia, well we should have seen this coming. She is a vampire, living with a human, and while she can tap into Hoyt whenever she wants, it is like being domesticated is holding her back, which is probably why they are always arguing, and why she felt “alive” eating from another human.
Two episodes in and the challenges and pitfalls abound. What will happen with an Eric who no longer remembers? What is going on with the Marnie? Is she going to become the new bad in the world? And from the previews, it looks like the faeries are not done with Sookie.
