The big question is if Tropical Storm Emily will get over the island of Hispaniola tonight; at this point, mainly over the mountainous terrains of Haiti, before she falls apart. According to WPTV News 5, the storm could possibly fall apart later tonight and early tomorrow morning as it crosses over Hispaniola.
Tropical Storm Emily is expected to move over Haiti/Cuba tonight and tomorrow morning. If the storm manages to reorganize and re-strengthen once it gets back over the open water, then it is expected to hit the Bahamas and South Florida by Friday night or Saturday morning.
Based on the current data from all the computer models, the worst case scenario would be for Tropical Storm Emily to hit South Florida on Friday night or Saturday morning, speeding up and approaching the continental US a little bit earlier than expected.
The very latest from the National Weather Service about Tropical Storm Emily:
- 16.7N 69.6W
- Winds at 50mph
- Moving West at 14 mph, although very disorganized
- Pressure 1006mb/29.71 In
