If you didn’t make it out to San Diego for last thursday’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 panel, you didn’t get to see the two film clips which were presented at the show in person: one featuring “Jacob” and his wolfpack and the second featuring “Bella” and “Edward” on their honeymoon in Isle Esme.
Well, you can see them now in the video sidebar attachment.
The “Jacob” clip is really great to highlight his position in the movie. He’s broken off from his old pack, which is very dangerous, but he’s willing to step up to them and explain his plan . . . to kill “Bella’s” baby. We’re left with that cliffhanger question: who’s side is he on, anyway? From the book, we know that his intention, as explained in the clip, is honest – he wants to destroy whatever’s going to potentially destroy “Bella.” Taylor Lautner‘s deviousness in that moment is pretty surprising, is it not?
As for the honeymoon scene, well it speaks for itself. What’s interesting is we are getting a whole new look at “Bella” that we haven’t seen before . . . what happens when she’s just being human. In the books, that’s a running feature of the story (“Human Moments”), but in the movies, it’s been a game of bouncing back and forth between the various scenes involving other characters. Breaking Dawn – Part 1, it seems, will give us some of the more intimate moments of “Bella” being in her own head. That is something to truly look forward to in the way of character identification.
The clip also prepares us for some of the very romantic moments to come with that portion of the story. “Don’t take too long Mrs. Cullen.” Yep, that drew some screams from the audience; rightfully so.
What do you think of the clips?
