There’s been enough talk about Sade being a lesbian that the focuses has been taken away from her great talent and the fact that she’s got enough appeal for gays and straights. So regardless of your sexuality, the talented singer, long absent from the music scene, will be doing three concerts this week in the Bay Area and you can still get tickets.
In San Jose, you can catch her at the HP Pavilion and there’s still some great seats left in the $175 range as well as some less expensive $50 seats. The same is true when she performs Friday and Saturday at the Oakland Oracle Arena, with much better options on Friday than Saturday.
So even though the singer has had chart topping albums and won Grammys, people still wonder her sexual orientation. It’s even a question on answers.com. And perhaps that afterellen.com reports on her often, one might think she’s a lesbian. Or even the fact that her song “By Your Side” is in the Top Ten Lesbian Love Songs, according to about.com.
But onstage, she’s everyone’s performer. Since it’s been over a year since her 10-year-in-the-making “Soldier of Love” CD came out (not of the closet), this concert will likely focus on her entire songbook as featured on her “Ultimate Collection” CD released just a few months ago.
So if you’re straight and a big fan, this is a rare opportunity to see a performer who is as smooth an operator as her similarly named song.
Lesbians are drawn to her – and this concert also has something for gay men as well- the straight but still extremely sexy John Legend will be performing too.
