Earlier Monday, Lady Gaga served as a guest-host on “The View” in order to properly discuss almost anything and everything relating to what is going on in pop culture. She talked about politics, said Tim Gunn was wrong for recently insulting Hilary Clinton, and also performed new single “You and I” — however, what was perhaps her most fascinating moment was when she talked openly about the recent death of Amy Winehouse:
“I’m so devastated and so sad. I really couldn’t speak for like 48 hours straight. I was in such shock. You know, I think the most unfortunate thing about it all is the way the media spins things. Like, here, we can learn from Amy’s death. I don’t think Amy needed to learn any lessons. I think the lesson was for the world to be kinder to the superstar. Everybody was so hard on her, and everything that I knew about her was that she was the most lovely and kind woman.”
This appearance comes as yet another attempt for Gaga to continue publicizing her new song, with some of her other recent stops being “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last week.
What do you think of Gaga’s appearance on the daytime talk show, and of her comments about Winehouse?
