An award winning family event, the Kansas City Rennaissance Festival is the perfect fall treat for military families. Located just north of I-70 and K-7 highways in Bonner Springs, the festivities begin September 3 and run every weekend until October 16th.
Open weekends and Labor Day 10am-7pm and Columbus Day 10am-5pm, rain or shine; each weekend has a different theme with special activities.

This years overall theme is Robin Hood. Many beloved characters will come to life during daily attractions that revolve around Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men, as they work to undermine the Evil Duchess and her henchmen.

You’ll hear live music, laughter, and squeals of delight at every turn though out our charming Canterbury Village. Your eyes will be amazed at over 1,000 dazzling costumed characters. In addition to 16 stages filled with nonstop music, comedy and thrills, and full armored jousts, guests also enjoy a unique shopping experience with 165 juried artisans.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance online or from local vendors. Details and specific vendor locations can be found on the KC Renfest website. Season passes and special event tickets can also be purchased online.
The normal price for tickets at the gate is $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for children per day. According to their Facebook page, military families can receive discounted tickets at the gate: $8.00 for adults and $5 for children. At almost a 50% discount, who could refuse?
