We all have an interest in boating and either boat regularly or would like too. Clearwater Community Sailing Center is a great local resource to help get your boating on! Based on Sand Key in Clearwater, the Community Sailing Center offers a range of resources to help you experience different kinds of water activity – particularly sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding!
If you love sailing but don’t have your own boat, or you just want to try something different on the water, then the CSC is the place for you. They have a fleet of over 40 boats that are available for hire by the hour ranging from $20 for the kayaks to $45 an hour for their 16ft hobie cat. In addition, you pay just $10 per person or $25 per family for daily membership. All oyu need to to is pass a simple practical and written test to ensure that you’ll be safe on the water and you’re all set!
If you decide you want to use the resources of the Community Sailing Center regularly, then they also have seasonal and annual membership options that you can choose from. Once you become an annual member you can rent any of their fleet of boats without any further charge.
If you’ve never sailed before, the Community Sailing Center offers a range of Learn To Sail programs for both adults and children of all ages. In addition to this, there is a very full youth program with sailing camps to keep the kids busy all summer long!
For more experienced sailors, the Community Sailing Center offers a number of both fun and competitive racing regattas and can help you hone your racing skills. The Sailing Center has also hosted a number of important racing regattas and national sailing teams in winter or pre-race training. In addition to this, the Sailing Center plays host to Sailability Greater Tampa Bay, SailFit and the StandUp Fitness Paddleboarding and Kai AniAni Canoe Club.
