Remember the number one argument against the 3DS when it came out? That there weren’t enough good games out for it, and not a lot on the horizon? Well there’s a few developers that really aren’t helping the cause.
Within the last week or so, a lot of games planned for the 3DS have been either officially cancelled, or we can gather they’ve been cancelled.
The list is as follows:
- Mega Man Legends 3
- Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy
- Saints Row: Drive By
- Crush 3D
- Bomberman 3DS
These games were all cancelled for various reasons. We know Crush 3D was cancelled due to “uncertainty the 3DS would succeed.” Hudson isn’t doing too well these days, so that may be why Bomberman was cancelled. Assassin’s Creed was absorbed into Revelations, set to release in November. We don’t know anything official about Mega Man, but you can bet it has something to do with Keiji Inafune, A.K.A. the guy who freakin’ created Mega Man, leaving Capcom for good.
This isn’t good news for gamers, especially those begging for more great games on the 3DS. With nothing but mostly Nintendo classics like Mario and Star Fox on the horizon, it looks like Nintendo might be falling into their usual trap of not having enough great third-party titles.
Chicago, what say you? Will any of these titles be missed? I know a handful of people were planning on buying a 3DS just for Mega Man, are you one of them?
